Highlights from 2014

The Mays Landing Country Club played host to the 2nd Annual Mary Beth Davis Memorial Golf Tournament benefiting The Alcove, Center for Grieving Children and Families.

Golfers started the day with a continental breakfast, followed by a round of golf and concluded with a BBQ luncheon. Prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin were awarded. Live auction foursomes and gift baskets were generously donated by friends and family of Mary Beth.

The Alcove is grateful to our generous sponsors: Nehmad, Perillo Davis, SOSH Architects, Jersey Architectural Door & Supply Co., R.W. Brown Landscaping, LLC, Hafitz & Associates, Sykes Family Foundation, Bevan, Mosca, Guiditta & Zarillo, P.C., Phoenix Advisors, LLC, Bramnick for Assembly, Pennoni Associates, Atlantic City Electric, Archer & Grainer, P.C.the Geary Family and Shore Toyota for sponsoring the Hole in One car. Proceeds from the event will be used to create the Mary Beth Davis Parent Resource Center at The Alcove.

The Mary Beth Davis Memorial Golf Tournament benefiting The Alcove is an annual fundraising event created by Mary Beth’s loving husband and family after a brief illness and untimely death.

“Everyone who knew Mary Beth remembers her for her warmth, smile and positive outlook on life. While the boys and I miss her every day, Alcove has helped us greatly in our grief. Helping The Alcove continue its mission for other families is a great way for us to remember a great woman,” said Keith Davis.

The Alcove Center for Grieving Children and Families was established in 2001, as a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide a safe place where children and their families who are grieving the death of a loved one can receive comfort and support through the healing process. The Alcove Center for Grieving Children and families provides bereavement support services for the Southern New Jersey area. All bereavement groups are FREE OF CHARGE thanks to generous donations from individuals, businesses, charitable organizations and our dedicated volunteer staff.
